Administration

What an admin needs to know once Verify or Notify is set up and running.

Community setup

Verify and Notify each have their own setup flow, covered step by step in Getting Started. They're independent - you can run either alone, or both together for the same server.

Roles

On Discord, admin commands for both products require the Manage Server permission (Notify's /setup also accepts Administrator). Member-facing commands like /verify and collection lookups (/floor, /sales, and similar) are open to anyone. On Telegram, admin actions live behind a DM with the bot and a live check that you're still a real admin of the connected group - there's no separate role system to configure.

Permissions

When you add either Discord bot to your server, it needs a specific set of Discord permissions to function - granting less will cause real actions to fail.

Verify (Discord)

  • Manage Roles - to assign/remove the Grant Target role, and to grant channel-based access.
  • View Channels - to see the channels it needs to check or post in.
  • Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files - to post the portal message.

Note

Granting a role also requires OtterFi's own role to sit above the role it's granting in your server's role list - a Discord-wide rule, not something the invite link itself controls. If grants ever silently fail, check this first.

Notify (Discord)

  • View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files - to post notifications.
  • Pin Messages - for /pin and the pinned dashboard.

Branding

Notify lets you set a branding emoji and a set of links shown alongside your notifications, and shows your collection's own name automatically - the display name isn't separately editable, by design, so it always matches your real collection.

Coming Soon

Custom logo/accent-color branding and white-labelled verification pages are planned Pro features, not available yet - see Pricing.

Live Membership

Live Membership is Verify's opt-in, faster access-update mode. Turn it on from /live_membership enabled:true on Discord, or the equivalent Community Console toggle on Telegram. Full details in Verify.

Dashboard

Notify's /pin command gives you a live-updating pinned message today - floor price, volume, holders, and mint progress in one place. This is separate from the broader, cross-community Dashboard listed on the roadmap, which is planned but not built yet.

Moderation

Both products support pausing without losing your configuration: /pause stops Verify from granting or revoking access, or stops Notify from sending notifications; /resume turns it back on exactly where it left off. Nothing is deleted by pausing.
