Upgrading & Downgrading

What actually happens when you move to a different tier, or stop paying for one - in plain terms.

Changing tiers

There's no separate "downgrade" action - moving to a different tier, higher or lower, works the same way: purchase that tier through the bot's own /upgrade command, the same catalog described in Billing & Plans.

The change takes effect immediately once the new payment is confirmed - the new plan replaces the old one right away, starting a brand-new billing period. Any time remaining on the previous plan isn't credited, carried over, or prorated.

Cancellation

There's currently no self-service "cancel" button in the bot or on the website - cancelling a paid plan today means contacting support, and it's handled on our side. Once processed, it takes effect immediately - not at the end of the current paid period.

What happens to your setup

Whether you move to a lower tier, your plan expires, or you cancel, the same thing happens: nothing about your existing setup is deleted or reset. Tracked Notify collections, Verify communities, Access Policies, and any branding you've configured all stay exactly as they are.

What changes is forward-looking: capabilities that require the higher tier simply stop being applied going forward - for example, faster re-verification, Live Membership, or custom branding. Anything that would exceed your new tier's limits (like adding another tracked collection beyond what your plan allows) is blocked until you upgrade again - existing items already over a new, lower limit are never removed for that reason alone.

Re-upgrading restores the applicable entitlements immediately, with nothing to reconfigure.

Note

A plan that simply reaches the end of its billing period without being renewed reverts to the Free tier automatically - no action needed, and the same "nothing is deleted" behavior above applies.
