Getting Started

This walks through setting up both products from scratch. If you only need one, skip to that section - Verify and Notify are configured independently.

Create your first community

There's no separate account to create up front. Adding either bot to your Telegram group or Discord server, then completing its setup wizard, is what creates your OtterFi account and community record. Start from the Get Started page to grab the right bot for your platform.

Install Notify

On Telegram

1. Add the bot to your group.
2. The bot posts a message with a private setup link - tap it to continue in a DM with the bot.
3. Choose the blockchain your collection is deployed on.
4. Provide your collection's contract address.
5. Confirm the collection OtterFi found (name, image, and stats are pulled live from OpenSea).
6. Pick an alert style - Minimal, Rich, or Community (see Notify for what each looks like).
7. Choose which notification categories to receive (sales, listings, floor activity, mints).
8. Optionally set a branding emoji and links.
9. Send a test notification to confirm everything looks right.
10. Tap Start the Bot - this is the step that switches Notify from setup into live delivery.

On Discord

1. Add the bot to your server (you'll need Administrator or Manage Server permission).
2. Run /setup.
3. Choose your blockchain from the menu.
4. Enter your collection's contract address in the form that opens.
5. Confirm the collection OtterFi found.

Install Verify

On Telegram

Verify's Telegram bot is entirely button-driven - there are no commands to memorize beyond starting a chat with the bot. From the setup flow you'll choose the group you want to gate, the channel your verification message should be posted to, the blockchain your requirement lives on, and whether it's an NFT or a token. From there you build your access requirement (see Access Policies) and confirm it.

On Discord

1. Add the bot to your server (Manage Server permission required for setup commands).
2. Run /community to register your server as a Verify community.
3. Run /policy to set your access requirement and choose a Grant Target - the role members receive, or the channel they unlock.
4. Run /portal and pick a channel - this posts the standing verification message members will use.

Connect Telegram / Connect Discord

"Connecting" a platform just means adding the bot and completing the setup steps above - there's no separate account-linking step. Telegram and Discord are configured completely independently, even for the same collection or community; running one doesn't require or affect the other.

Verify your first member

Once Verify is set up, a member taps the verify button in your channel or portal message and is taken to a page where they prove ownership of a wallet - either by connecting it directly, or without connecting one at all. See exactly how each method works in Security. If their wallet meets your requirement, access is granted automatically - a Telegram invite link they can use once, or their Discord role.

Receive your first notification

Once Notify is live, real sales, listings, and floor movement for your collection start arriving on their own - there's nothing further to trigger. Use the test notification step during setup (or re-run it from Settings) to confirm your alert style and destination look right before real activity starts.
